Drug testing before admission in school??? Well, looking at the positive effects on the school and for the students, yes, I may say it should be required. The reputation of the school will be maintained as students are being admitted..... but once the student shows negative results in drugs and is accepted for enrollment doesn't mean that he's going to be a drug free student his whole stay in school. There's so many ways students these days get through without getting caught. The importance of knowing the value and morality in life should always be kept in mind... Except the fact that our parents also became our teachers, where can students learn these values, where can they be taught?? ....School right?
Why keep education for "acceptable drug free" students only?? Every person has the ability to change and learn. In fact, everyone has the right for education. So why keep it away from others?? Is it just to keep the reputation of the school?? That such a lame reason if so.. What about the students who show positive results in drug tests?? Are they just rejected for admission just like that and stay as a bum at home?? Those students might even become more an addict as a bum at home than how he was as a student. For me, it's not practical to reject a student from enrolling because of taking drugs. We don't really know what the student is capable of sharing to reality and life in school grounds. There may be a lot of consequences accepting a student who takes drugs but there may be a lot of things that student can learn from and even share to others...
What if a student is addicted to, let's say, uhmmm, marijuana, pot, weed or whatever they call it.. Yeah, being an addict isn't not good at all. But considering the fact that he's actually a student willing to learn, We don't know.... They may be graduating with honors, with high aims in life. Would he just be left out because of a simple drug test?? Admitting that student for enrollment may even help him even more to reduce his addiction to pot until he can live a clean life.
REALITY CHECK! The youth today?? Is very LIBERATED than before. Isn't it??? Drugs in this world is not the worst issue in life.
Though drugs may bring harm to others and may even influence the innocent but schools should never reject a student.. Education is for learning... Just think how will these students learn their lessons in life, its value and morality if the school itself can't even accept the reality that the world today is growing and getting even more aware of things that surround us.... Education may even guide those students to the right path in living life.. Actually it should... If it doesn't, the education you call is doesn't serve its purpose.. So for me, I think drug testing should not be required. Or if ever it is, the school should never reject a student willing to learn just because of that reason. The school should even give more attention to those students and help them out in these issues, right? Everyone knows education is really important in life... And it shouldn't be taken away from someone who has the right to learn.....
